Surprise CBC Radio 89.3 interview on Sunday at 8:00am

I mentioned yesterday that while I was emailing John from McNally Robinson and he sent me an email saying that a producer from CBC Radio 89.3 FM wanted to contact me to do an interview on Sunday Morning with journalist Terry MacLeod who does The Weekend Morning Show.
I spoke with Terry this afternoon and although it was a brief chat, Terry invited me to do an interview on Sunday morning (March 16) at approximately 8:00 am. If you can, tune in to CBC Radio One 89.3 FM / 990 AM at that time and listen to the interview. I feel very blessed and lucky to be given these opportunities that I have had in the last couple of months. Stay tuned for more (pun intended!)
Tomorrow I am off to the Millennium Library for the launch of the Cancer Crossing ebook that I am featured in - precicely - me telling Dad's journey with cancer and my path with him.

Preparing for my McNally Experience on Sunday

I went into +McNally Robinson Booksellers today to see for myself what several people were telling me - that they saw different advertisements in the store about the upcoming reading and signing on Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Atrium.
Just inside of the parking lot entrance, guess what I saw? Me! There I was - on a nice blue poster right next to copies of my book! I had a good look and smiled to myself. I know I sound excited but I think I am entitled to feel that way. After all, this is my first full-length book (I have published chapter in a book on vocational education and other published items in academic journals). I am no J.K. Rawlings or Alice Munroe so I'll take whatever space I can get.

I walked around some more and picked up a monthly newlsetter and event flyer and this is what I saw:

I perused the Prairie Authors section as well as the non-fiction section but I didn't see any of the books there. Then I asked one of the staff where else I might find copies of my book. She directed me to the Politics section and Women Authors section. And there they were!

I am very pleased with the support I am receiving from McNally and John Toews has been more than helpful. I hope to see some family and friends on Sunday otherwise I'll be pretty lonely (and slightly embarrassed).
Another good thing happened today just as John and I were emailing each other to confirm Sunday's details, but you'll have to check back tomorrow for the details.

Scheduled for Public Book Launch at McNally Robinson Booksellers

I am getting very excited about my public book launch at McNally Robinson on March 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm.

I was asked by several people if I would do a book launch there because McNally is noted for supporting local talent. I have to say that's been entirely true. I've been communicating with John at the bookstore and he has been more than gracious and timely in responding to my emails and supporting me in this phase of my book promotion.

Some people have mentioned that they have seen the advertisement for the reading. I was at the bookstore on Saturday but I was really in and out, dropping off some more books. I'll go this weekend to see what kind of display there is.

Click on the link below to leave a comment if you plan to go. I'd appreciate all the support I can get.
